Visa Requirements

To work in Saudi Arabia you must have a work visa. This will be obtained from the Saudi Arabian embassy in your country. To obtain a work visa you must have a degree and undergo a medical examination to ensure fitness for the position. As requirements for the work visa vary from country to country, it is best to contact your local Saudi Arabian embassy. Hiring Procedure

Saudi ArabiaOnce we have received your application, there will be three stages of screening for the instructor positions as indicated below.

  1. Initial screening of curriculum vitae and cross checking of references
  2. Telephone interview
  3. Personal interview

You will be informed within three days of the outcome of the interview. Long Distance applicants may only have a telephone interview.

Teaching Contracts

We are currently looking for young, dynamic native speakers of English who are flexible and able to adapt to a new style of teaching. At least one year teaching English as a foreign language as a full-time employee is preferred, however all training will be provided for new instructors in the Berlitz methodology upon arrival in the kingdom and a recognized TEFL certificate from an accredited university, such as the RSA CELTA will be advantageous. Currently our positions are only open to male applicants in the following cities.

  • Jeddah, Riyadh, Al-Khobar (Ladies Center), Hofuf, Taif
  • Mekkah (Muslims only)

The contract is for one year and renewable at the end of your service. You will receive a basic salary (tax free) as indicated below. Please note the current Exchange Rate is 3.75 SR for one US Dollar and salaries are paid at the end of each Gregorian month.

Housing
Accommodation with all the necessary amenities will be provided. In cases where no accommodation is provided instructors will receive a housing allowance and will receive assistance in finding suitable accommodation.

Transportation
In some locations transportation will be provided for the instructors. In cases where transportation is not available a transportation allowance will be given. It is also possible to find a very good deal on a second hand car.

Vacation
Instructors receive 23 days paid vacation after the first 12 months in the Kingdom. In addition to this, all staff including instructors are entitled to take 4-6 days paid holidays at Eid Al-Fitr and Eid Al-Adh'ha. These are public holidays for the kingdom and follow the months of Ramadan and Haji. Saudi National Day (in September) is also a paid holiday.

Air Tickets
The company will provide a single status round trip Economy Class ticket from/ to the country of origin once a year.

Health Care
You will be provided with free medical and dental insurance.

End Of Service Gratuity
Upon completion of the employee's service, he will be paid compensation equal to half a month's salary for each of the first five years of employment; and one month's salary for each of the subsequent years.

Work Schedule
Instructors work 6 days a week; Thursday is a half-day. Instructors will be expected to teach between 8-11 units per day. Berlitz teaching units are 45 minutes. Regular intervals are given between lessons. Due to the working hours of the center there will be occasions where instructors are expected to work split shifts.

Upon arrival in Saudi Arabia all new instructors will go through the Berlitz Initial Training and will have an orientation period before starting classes.
